Control Room for The Largest Renewable Energy Facility

For NextEra, the Renewable Operations Control Center (ROCC) represented a groundbreaking innovation in the energy industry—a first-of-its-kind, 26-position control room designed to monitor and manage their expansive renewable energy fleet. The ROCC enables 24/7 remote operation of approximately 39 GW of generating assets spread across 44 U.S. states and Canada.

Control Room Design:

When designing both the Renewable Operations Control Center and Fleet Control Center for NextEra, our team prioritized creating a versatile and future-proof layout that would support both the current and evolving needs of remote plant operations. We collaborated closely with NextEra to understand the unique demands of managing combined cycle plants across various scenarios, from daily operations to emergency conditions.

Control Room Installation:

The installation on this project started back in 2022, and the customer is so happy with Evans’ products and service that they have continued to engage us to help expand the West Palm Beach FCC. The continued success of this project can be attributed to the hard work and collaborative efforts of Evans’ teams.
